High security bollards

High security bollards for locations where there are both high-risk and high-threat factors to consider. High security bollards create a hard stop for penetrative vehicle attack and create optimal levels of security.

For products to be certified under rating systems, they must be live tested at an independent crash test facility under specific and controlled conditions.

There are two industry standards for crash ratings:

PAS 68 is the UK’s standard and the security industry’s benchmark for HVM equipment. All PAS 68 products can stop a fully laden 7.5-tonne two-axle lorry travelling at 40mph (64km/h).

IWA 14 is the International Workshop Agreement which specifies the essential impact performance requirement for a vehicle security barrier (VSB) and a test method for rating its performance when subjected to a single impact by a test vehicle not driven by a human being. It provides guidance for the selection, installation and use of VSBs.

Crash-rated barriers provide the most secure protection, but can be expensive to purchase and install. Other features, such as retractability and automatic deployment, also require significant, ongoing maintenance and care to ensure barriers remain operational.
