Automatic HVM Terra Quantum side folding bollards were supplied for pedestrian areas of a public realm project in Hammersmith, London.
The area includes offices, retail units and public areas with outdoor amenities and places to sit. As the gateway is just off a busy public high way Secured by Design recommended the client install an HVM impact-tested shallow foundation solution. This needed to provide out of hours and emergency security against vehicle attacks at the front entrance of the estate.
Work undertaken
Frontier Pitts HVM specialists were involved in the project from the early design stage, offering initial design advice and working closely with the different stakeholders and a Secured by Design officer to produce a tailored solution.
HVM automatic Terra Quantum bollards were selected for the project. This has been successfully impact-tested to the British PAS 68 specification stopping a 7.5t vehicle travelling at 30mph. With its shallow foundation and unique side folding action, the innovative rising Terra Quantum bollard was finished in stainless steel to blend in with the estate's contemporary feel.
