London-based artist Gary Drostle creates large-scale, site-specific mural and mosaic artworks. Each commission is designed specifically for the individual site, drawing on the local history, architecture, landscape and community for inspiration.     Mosaics are usually made off site using the traditional reverse technique. Materials include Venetian glass smalti, 24 carat gold smalti, vitreous glass, iradized glass, ceramic, stone and marble or mixed media. Gary has completed many major award-winning commissions across the UK and in the USA. Projects range from large-scale heritage murals, to contemporary mosaics and landmark mosaic sculptures.

The 25 foot high De Luci mosaic fish sculpture for Erith in Kent won both the Rouse Kent Awards for public art and the Best Architectural Mosaic at the Mosaic Arts International exhibition in the USA.
