Fingerposts
Manufactures and restores traditional pedestrian and highway cast fingerpost signs. Columns can generally be mixed and matched with various ball and ring finials and many kinds of pointer, including the now-rare wooden arms with cast collars and screwed-on cast letters. Materials used include aluminium, cast iron and steel
Plaques and coats of arms
Leander Architectural has been making plaques for over 100 years. They have been commissioned by to trusts, civic societies, councils and other organisations. Leander produces plaques in cast bronze and aluminium with relief patterns and lettering. The company also makes engraved and etched plaques stainless steel, brass, copper and zinc
Bandstands
We have developed a range of bandstand designs based on originals by the famous Victorian / Edwardian foundries Walter McFarlane and Elmbank Foundry Co. These are typically available from 5000mm – 8500mm diameters (larger & smaller available upon request). We will work with our clients to deliver a custom solution that meets their specifications
Architectural metalworkers
Metalwork projects Leander Architectural consists of versatile designers and fabricators, who are used to combining cast and wrought metals into complete structures of all kinds. Traditional items include pavement canopies and arcades. Contemporary and bespoke work is very diverse, ranging from replica WW1 railway wagons to public art commissions

In addition we provide casting and fabrication facilities for our clients in our large workshops, located on the outskirts of the historic spa town of Buxton in the Peak District.
Metalwork projects
Typical metalwork projects are public art commissions, entrance arches, trail markers and historic metalwork repair. Metalwork replication for mainline railways stations is a growing sector of the business. Smaller projects include bespoke street furniture and signage - finger post signs, village noticeboards, town signs, columns etc.
In-house foundry and blacksmithing facilities allow Leander to produce bespoke architectural and decorative castings ranging from tree branches to wine cellar doors.
The range of products and materials are suitable for almost any environment – from seaside promenades, railway stations, nature reserves through to commercial property.

Design Service
Over the years, many aspects of the work have changed with the advent of computer design, laser etching, water-jetting, but old crafts such as hand-carving in clay are still practised every day. The dedicated team of engineers and designers will work with clients to produce beautiful designs within a given budget.
Manufacture
Materials worked
Leander’s products are manufactured in-house using high quality materials including aluminium, stainless steel, bronze and iron.
Glazing
The glazing systems used are of extremely high and robust specification, in a format that gracefully complements the designs.
Fabrication and assembly
A large fabrication and assembly workshop allows all but the largest structures to be completely ‘dry-run’ assembled before dispatch.
Royal Label Factory traditional signage
The Royal Label Factory has been incorporated into Leander Architectural in 1998.
The Royal Label Factory dates back to 1874 and has continuously worked with some customers since the 1940's.
The Royal Label Factory, concentrates on traditional signage and retains many of the casting patterns it developed in the 1930s for county and town council signposts and fingerposts.
Major elements of the workload include blue plaques for civic trusts and societies throughout the UK and signs of all kinds for heritage agencies - particularly the National Trust, Historic Scotland and Cadw-Welsh Monuments.
