A small Cretan terracotta bowl with a beautiful, scalloped edge and ring detailing. The size makes it ideal for growing herbs or small bedding or alpine plants. It would be a useful addition to a grouping of terracotta pots and could also be used indoors on a window sill if lined with fibreglass.

Manufacture and composition

  • Handmade in Crete using local purified clay.

  • Completed pots are dried in the Mediterranean sun before being gas fired at 1200 degrees C. This high temperature firing enables the pots to withstand extreme cold and hot temperatures without cracking.
