Alternative To Tropical Hardwoods

Thermo Ash, through its unique thermal treatment, provides a comparable alternative to hardwood that is both durable and beautiful.

Unlike most tropical hardwoods, Thermo Ash is environmentally friendly, sustainably sourced and when installed and treated correctly can resist rot for up to 25 years.

Sustainably Sourced Ash Wood

Sourced from Europe and North America, Ash (also known as Fraxinus excelsior or Fraxinus americana) is a deciduous tree from the Oleaceae family. Known for its durability and appealing tone and texture, Ash has become a popular option for modern-day decking and cladding.

Treated through a unique thermal process, the modified ash used in Thermo Ash doubles down on its durability and provides your decking or cladding with a rich and exotic finish, that mirrors tropical hardwoods.

Natural Weathering

Thermo Ash boasts a deep brown colour that is both rich and exotic upon installation. Like any natural wood material, over time the surface will fade to a natural grey, a process which occurs when wood is exposed to sunlight.

Depending on the location of the site and the levels of UV it is subjected to, this process can be quickened or slowed and will begin from the moment of installation. Whilst the durability of the boards is not affected, maintenance treatments are available to maintain the deeper tones.

A Finish Designed To Last

By design, Thermo Ash is highly durable and resistant to wear and tear. Through a unique thermal treatment, The Outdoor Deck Company’s Ash wood finishes achieve the highest durability class in the EU.

The thermal process also lowers the moisture absorption rate within the wood, which mitigates natural timber characteristics such as warping, shrinking and expansion of the boards. Sustainably sourced, Thermo Ash is the ideal decking or cladding material for those looking for a sustainable solution that is designed to stand the test of time.
