Source

Iroko is a stunning West African hardwood that is ideal for external use due to its extreme stability and durability. It weathers well and is known for its strength and density, often used as replacement for Teak for those looking for a high-performance timber.

The thermo-treatment process is environmentally friendly, requiring no use of chemicals, and resulting in no harmful byproducts.

Natural Weathering

The surface of Thermo Iroko boards, like any natural wood material, will change to a natural grey over time, a process which occurs when wood is exposed to sunlight.   Being a lighter colour to start with, the aging process will be longer than darker timbers.

Depending on the location of the site and the levels of UV it is subjected to, this process can be quickened or slowed and will begin from the moment of installation. Whilst the durability of the boards is not affected, maintenance treatments are available to maintain the deeper tones.

A Finish Designed To Last

By design, Thermo Iroko is highly durable and resistant to most wear and tear.   The thermal process also lowers the moisture absorption rate within the wood, which mitigates the side-affects such as warping, shrinking and expansion of the boards.

A rich Amber colour, the thermo-treatment ensures an even tone throughout the length of the board.
