Turbocast 400™ is a high-performance manual gritting machine capable of broadcast spreading dry, damp or wet grit / salt economically and quickly over large areas.

It comprises a robust double-skinned Durapol® material chassis and a double-skinned Durapol material hopper that offers excellent corrosion resistance and a long service life.

The detachable hopper allows access to the agitation and spinner mechanism for ease of maintenance.

As steelwork is kept to a minimum, the machine is light, well-balanced and easy to manoeuvre when empty and at full 50L capacity of 50kg with Icemelt or 63kg with brown rock salt.

The machine provides six spread settings to enable optimal grit distribution with a range of gritting materials including wet brown rock salt and dry white salt products such as Glasdon Icemelt, the machine can spread at a range of recommended dosages for precautionary spread (10-20gms/m2), intermediate spread (30-40gms/m2), or priority spread (50-60gms/m2) at a spread width of 3-7m. The spread can be shut off to enable transit between gritting sites without wasting grit along the way.

  • Detachable, lift-off hopper allows for quick and easy access to the agitation and spinner mechanism for ease of maintenance. Spring-loaded locking pins and removal of two fixings allow for quick and simple hopper removal. All components are enclosed to reduce the risk of corrosion.

  • 3-7m grit spread width - efficiently and evenly distributes damp, wet and dry gritting products. Achieve accurate dosage by adjusting walking pace. Will reach under parked cars.

  • 6 grit spreading settings provide total control over the grit output between 10 and 60g/m2 with wet brown rock salt and dry white salt. Spread settings can be set to provide recommended dosage for precautionary spread (10-20gms/m2), intermediate spread (30-40gms/m2), priority spread (50-60gmsm2). The spread can also be shut off altogether when moving between gritting locations to minimise wastage.

  • Large 50L capacity offers operational efficiency with less frequent filling required and the ability to grit a large area with one load (830 to 5000m²).

  • Portable lightweight design of just 32kg unladen weight makes it easy to manoeuvre and push, reducing fatigue and improving comfort.

  • Polypropylene spinner plate is robust, strong and corrosion-resistant.

  • Continuous high-strength belt drive - reliable operation and minimal maintenance because of a direct drive mechanism.

  • Ergonomically-shaped wheelbarrow handles offer comfort when operating the machine. Rubber handles offer additional grip for ease of use.

  • Extended handle length provides foot clearance when operating the machine.

  • Balanced weight distribution. The spreading machine's ergonomic design minimises strain and can be easily manoeuvred when fully laden.

  • Narrow width. The spreader's slim design allows the gritter to fit through doorways.

  • Integrated rest location points assist with the tipping operation when emptying the gritter after use. The gritter remains stable when not in use.

  • Dosage controls include a stainless steel spread adjustment handle which is robust, strong and corrosion-resistant, whilst a setting control pin offers quick and easy means of setting the dosing rate of the machine.

  • Solid tyres offer reliable operation. Gritting machine can easily mount kerbs without any risk of puncture.

  • High-visibility reflective panels ensure optimum on-site operational safety.
