Secure: ACO BorderGuard provides a secure edge for block paving and ACO’s ground reinforcement tiles.
Flexible: With the outer edge cut through, BorderGuard bends to follow the curve of a paved/tiled installation, up to 90 degrees.
Neat: BorderGuard’s open-grid structure accommodates planting or grass, rendering the product practically invisible in comparison to concrete-hauched edging.
ACO BorderGuard ensures paving blocks and ground reinforcement tiles are securely locked in, while itself becomes almost invisible when hidden by soil or grass.
Why secure edges matter with block paving and ground reinforcement tiles
The edge of the block paving installation is crucial for the security of the paving as a whole.
Block pavers are typically laid on a cement-free bed of sharp sand and so the edging holds the blocks together and prevents sideways movement when they are subjected to a load from above e.g. from a car wheel.
The same principle applies to ground reinforcement tiles. While the built-in pegging points allow ACO's tiles to be secured into the sub-base, edging with BorderGuard further restricts the tiles moving sideways, particularly under the force of a turning car wheel – plus BorderGuard creates a neat boundary.
