Grassflex is a versatile and attractive surfacing that provides an economic alternative to conventional rubber tiles or wet pour surfacing.
It has a soft and springy feel and comprises one or more layers of recycled, impact-absorbing polyethylene foam matting, covered by a sand-filled artificial grass carpet.
The polyethylene foam matting is chipped and heat-bonded (no adhesives) to form a durable, free-draining and highly effective, impact-absorbing material. The foams closed-cell construction uses trapped cells of air to produce a springy, cushioned surface, which will not compress, even after prolonged use. It is also unaffected by temperature.
Grassflex is hard-wearing, resistant to cutting and burning (classified as low radius of ignition according to BS 4790) and is non-slip.
Alternative colours and patterns are available. The flexible nature of the material enables it to be installed to suit the natural contours of the surrounding areas.
The versatility of Grassflex enables the formation of traditional playgrounds or general play areas (without equipment).
