Sensory play is recognised as an important and necessary part of children’s play experiences. Sensory play can be achieved in many ways, but perhaps the most popular is to create musical instruments in playgrounds.
Musical instruments can take many forms, and Theories is able to draw upon an extensive repertoire of bespoke musical features including large and sculptural bat phones (decorated drainage pipe sections cut to length and beaten with a paddle) and tubular bells (sections of aluminium tube with a sound quality of a bell). Theories also fabricates drums and bamboo chimes, as well as other sensory sound solutions.
New to the Theories product range for 2012 are the ‘Tymbella’ and ‘Alubella’. These exciting new musical systems, constructed using sustainable materials and available in either hardwood or aluminium, are easily integrated into an existing playscape, or as part of a new design. They are affordable, durable, and will provide hours of endless fun, and learning. They are extremely versatile, sound fantastic, and they can be built to a tune rather than a scale for extra interest and player usability.
Music is one of the key strengths of the Theories organisation, and our highly skilled musicians and craftsmen, can also work with you to invent a bespoke musical solution for your playground, using sustainable materials.
