Percussion Play has expanded its Inspired by Nature collection with four new instruments for 2026: the Ladybug, Butterfly, Toadstool, and Sylvan Bell-Trees. Designed to spark curiosity and hands-on musical play, they are ideal for early-years settings, schools, parks, sensory gardens, community spaces, and therapeutic outdoor environments.
The Ladybug invites children to press any of its six black spots, each producing a cheerful note tuned to a C Major Pentatonic scale. This intuitive, mallet-free design encourages early exploration of rhythm and melody, especially suited to young learners and family spaces.
The Butterfly invites players to simply press its sculptural wings to activate bright, resonant bell tones. This playful, accessible design blends musical discovery with nature-themed learning, making it a strong fit for schools, inclusive playgrounds and community spaces.
The Toadstool is played by tapping the white spots on the mushroom cap, which reveal clear, resonant tones hidden beneath. Its friendly shape supports sensory engagement, imagination and early rhythmic learning in parks, early-years environments and accessible play spaces.
The Sylvan Bell-Trees offer an immersive “forest symphony” experience. Players strike the vertically arranged bells - using the attached mallets - to create ascending, harmonious tones. Tunings include pentatonic and diatonic scales, making them suitable for collaborative play in parks, therapeutic gardens, outdoor classrooms and public plazas.
