The Bike Storage Company are delighted to announce that we have signed up to the national ‘Travel Plan’ accreditation scheme ‘Modeshift STARS’, a membership organisation dedicated to growing sustainable travel opportunities across the United Kingdom.
Established in 2007, Modeshift strives to help develop a society in which active and sustainable travel is the preferred mode of transportation, creating better public spaces, a healthier population, and happier communities.
Modeshift provides a centre of excellence for travel planning and supports sustainable travel professionals and organisations to help develop and share best practice.
Team Modeshift’s services include advising workplaces, schools and higher education institutes on how they can better deliver sustainable travel opportunities; it also organises events, webinars, awards and campaigns to raise awareness and celebrate achievements in sustainable travel.
Having been officially made members, we are extremely excited to work with our new partners to help achieve Modeshift’s mission of ‘growing sustainable travel for a better future’.
On receiving accreditation, director Alastair Worlidge said: “We are delighted to support Modeshift and their hard work to provide a healthier society geared towards active travel.
“The Bike Storage Company is passionate about creating greater cycling opportunities and we cannot wait to work with our new partners to encourage people across the country to get out on their bikes more often.”
Following the announcement that The Bike Storage Company has joined the Team Modeshift movement, Business Director Nick Butler said: “Growing levels of walking, cycling and other forms of sustainable travel is our key priority – together we can make a real difference.
“Infrastructure is integral to encouraging more active and sustainable travel and the work that The Bike Storage Company does, and their expertise, will undoubtedly make a valuable contribution as we work towards our shared goals.”
