Context
The inner courtyard garden at Winchelsea Primary School has been transformed into a sensory space for pupils with the centrepiece being a circular raised planter bordered by two curved planters to complement the range of interactive sensory features included within the overall design of the garden created by Senteq.
Each planter, with a wide variety of fragrant herbs, has been designed at a height that is easily accessible for youngsters.
Curved planter designs
Curved planters are popular with schools and other educational settings, softening spaces to create natural and fluid shapes.
Being a modular system means curved designs can be created across all of WoodBlocX's structures, including raised planters, street furniture and retaining walls. From full circle shapes to curved sides, it can all be achieved using WoodBlocX.
The natural choice
Using a natural material like wood for sensory gardens helps to enhance the space by helping people feel closer to nature. Its texture is natural and comforting and has been proven to create better conditions for learning, making it an ideal material to use in schools.
All WoodBlocX structures are made from sustainably-sourced, FSC-certified Scots pine harvested by the company, with 80% being sourced from sustainably-managed forests within a 30-mile radius of its sawmill.
