- CORE DRIVE 50-35 gravel stabiliser grids
Challenge
CORE Drive 50-35 gravel stabiliser grids were selected to address issues with drainage that were creating dips and waterlogged spots on a private client's driveway.
The existing driveway had become uneven and sunken in multiple areas due to a lack of drainage. A free-draining surface was required, one which remained level and ensured that stone migration was mitigated – as that was a prior issue of the existing driveway before
Solution
CORE Landscapes advised using its CORE DRIVE 50-35 gravel stabiliser to ensure that the surface would be porous, fixing the drainage issue that the surface had previously.
By replacing the sub-base with a type 1 limestone base, and laying down a grit bedding layer, the company ensured that the sub-base itself would be as porous as possible, whilst still providing a level surface to lay the CORE DRIVE 50-35 gravel stabiliser on. The grid was then filled with a 10-12mm angular stone to leave an even covering over the gravel stabiliser. Starting from one corner and working outwards, the sheets were connected using the clipping mechanism to form one large matrix across the area.
Result
This solution is the perfect answer to the brief the customer required. Drainage was a longstanding issue that had caused major dips within their driveway, proving hazardous to walk and drive over. The CORE DRIVE 50-35 gives this driveway a new lease of life, and will keep it looking brand new for years to come.
