Design & installation of new irrigation system at Triton Square
Design & installation of new irrigation system to refreshed public realm landscape.
In the 1990s, Arup designed Triton Square, situated in Regent's Place, Euston Road, London, with future regeneration in mind for British Land. Two decades later, as customer needs evolved, British Land recognised the potential to expand the building's size and adapt it to suit today's modern workstyles. Choosing a refurbishment approach not only saved time and money but also reduced its carbon footprint. Moreover, significant strides were made in water efficiency. With the help of the BREEAM water calculator, an impressive 66.3% reduction in potable water use was achieved, resulting in saving approximately 18,925m3 annually, equivalent to 7.5 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
In this remarkable transformation, Waterscapes who are water feature and landscape irrigation specialists played a key role by designing and installing a new irrigation system to the revitalised public realm landscape. The refreshed surroundings now stand as a testament to the harmonious blend of sustainability, contemporary design, and the foresight of future regeneration, making Triton Square a shining example of environmentally conscious development in the heart of London.
