Requirement

Jacksons supplied anti-trap bow-top metal fencing and gates for the perimeter of a play park for Holt Parish Council. The existing chain link fencing was rusty with lots of sharp edges, and the gates had been poorly maintained and fallen into disrepair.

New fencing and gates were needed to create a safe and welcoming environment for the children using the play equipment, with suitable access for pedestrians, and vehicular access for maintenance and emergency vehicles.

Solution

Anti-trap bow-top fencing is one of the best options for playgrounds and play areas where metal fencing is required. Jacksons Anti-Trap Bow-Top fencing comes in four standard heights, and features wider gaps between the hoops to prevent children getting their heads and limbs stuck between the pales.

Jacksons Anti-Trap Bow-Top ROSPA-approved fencing conforms to anti-trap regulations and BS EN 1176 playground standards. The tubular pale-through-rail design provides strong construction and easy installation when compared to traditional iron railings. The panels are attached to posts with concealed vandal-proof connectors, protecting the fence from vandalism which is unfortunately common around playgrounds. The colour of the fence is also customisable with standard colours being Black RAL 9005 and Green RAL 6005; with a wide range of powder-coated colours on request making it easy to match new fencing to existing branding and colours. Marine coatings can also be supplied for applications near the coast.

1st Aid 4 Fencing, one of Jacksons’ approved installers, installed approximately 106m of 1.2m-high Anti-Trap Bow-Top fencing around the play park, powder-coated green to provide a glossy, long-lasting finish.

A 3m-wide field gate was installed for authorised vehicular access, along with three self-closing pedestrian Anti-Trap Bow-Top gates for ease of entry and to keep the play area secure, all powder-coated the same to match the fencing.

Outcome
