Crossrail Park is one of London's most expansive roof gardens, it beckons you to wander through and immerse yourself in the beauty of exotic plants. Along the way, discover hidden pathways adorned with inviting benches, offering serene spots to relax and soak in the surroundings. For added delight, the garden boasts an amphitheatre, where you can enjoy a variety of shows and performances.
Situated almost precisely on the Meridian line, Crossrail Place boasts a unique arrangement of planting. The lush greenery is thoughtfully organised based on the hemisphere they originate from. To the east, you'll find a selection of Asian plants, including graceful bamboo, while to the west, the garden showcases plants like ferns from the Americas.
In this splendid undertaking, Waterscapes played a significant role by designing and installing a sophisticated landscape irrigation system, ensuring all trees and shrubs planted receive the care they deserve through carefully implemented irrigation. This carefully crafted irrigation system enhances the health and vibrancy of the garden, ensuring that Crossrail Place Roof Garden remains a cherished retreat for all to enjoy!
Since completion it has been awarded 1st place for Innovative Design of a Contemporary Garden at the 2017 European Garden Awards in Berlin.
They said "judges selected the garden as a positive example of how landscape professionals can ‘rethink roof gardens and connect them with concepts for urban parks and architecture’. The project was praised for its ‘innovative concept and extraordinary plant skills’."
