Ornamental play bark is designed to perform well in many situations and provides a cost -effective solution to many gardening problems. It has excellent weed suppression and water retention properties whilst retaining a decorative appearance for many years. This bark has fire resistant characteristics making it very suitable for commercial schemes as a landscaping mulch as well as a decorative garden bark.

To ensure safety for play areas it is tested to BS EN 1177:1998, making it an ideal alternative to synthetic play surfaces.

Premium spruce, pine and mixed conifer bark chippings give a professional dark finish to beds and borders. Chipped to 8-40mm and screened to remove fine particles. Ideal for suppressing weeds and retaining moisture, saving water.

Composition

Predominantly pine bark from sustainable sources. Less than 10% white wood with minimal dust or fine material.

Coverage

Each bulk bag will cover 6m² to a depth of 100mm.

Recommended depth when used as a mulch is 50mm.

Suggested depth for commercial play areas is 300mm to protect against a critical height fall of 5m.

For domestic use the depth can be reduced depending on the critical fall height.
