Greenfix offers two root barrier options for dealing with invasive species.

Rootbarrier 400

An impermeable woven HDPE root barrier coated with a triple layer of film LDPE to prevent roots from lifting concrete, tarmac or other paving.

Mature tree roots can cause extensive damage to pipework and pavements. Tree roots need oxygen, water and a soil density low enough to penetrate and in urban areas in particular, tree roots often struggle to find a suitable route through the ground, so the disturbed soil around cables, pipework and paved areas is ideal.

Rootbarrier 400 can be installed vertically or horizontally to line trenches and comes in rolls 1.83m x 50m; alternatively, panels can be made to order up to 40m wide and 150m long.

Knotweed Barrier 600

An impermeable woven HDPE root barrier coated with a triple layer of film LDPE to prevent roots from lifting concrete, tarmac or other paving. Designed to contain the invasive JapaneseKnotweed this product has a design life of 25 years once buried and conforms to the Environment Agency’s ‘Knotweed code of Practice’.

An amendment to the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 includes Japanese knotweed and other invasive non-native plants.

Knotweed Barrier 600 can be installed vertically around the perimeter of a development to prevent lateral ingress of roots, or horizontally over the development to protect roads, paved surfaces, floored areas and buildings.

Greenfix supplies Knotweed Barrier in 1.83m x 50m rolls, and made to order panels up to 40m wide and 150m long.
