Multi-use games areas (MUGAs) are constructed using a variety of surface, fencing and equipment options to suit requirements. The specification can be tailored to suit the proposed use, location, or budgetary requirements.
Surface options
Porous tarmac (with or without a coloured sports paint finish)
Artificial grass
Polymeric rubber
Tarmac surfaces provide a hard-wearing, low-maintenace and vandal-resistant facility that is particularly suited to tennis, netball, basketball and general play.
Polymeric / rubber surfaces are suitable for most sports, whilst offering an element of player comfort and protection. However, they are comparatively expensive to lay and repair, and cannot be installed outside the warmer, drier summer months.
Sand- or rubber-filled artificial grass provide a durable, attractive finish that is better suited to football, hockey or child use.
Fencing options
Heavy-duty steel fencing can be provided in either galvanised or powder-coated colour finishes. It can be designed to incorperate gates, goal recessess, veiwing areas, combination football and basketball goals.
Baylis can also supply portable or permanent FUNTEC "Streetsoccer" courts to provide small enclosed pitches suitable for a multitude of uses.
