Challenge

Dunedin Homes approached Phi Group regarding the installation of a retaining wall at their new housing development in Halesowen. To maximise the development potential on site, the retaining wall was required in a cutting at the top of the site where there was an existing slope.

The retaining wall needed to be 115m long with a maximum retained height of 3.8m.

Solution

The Andacrib concrete crib retaining wall system was the most appropriate solution. Andacrib is a durable system that provides a maintenance-free 120-year design life and is very quick to build, with 30m2 face area a day easy to achieve.

It can also be landscaped using planting bags to give a vegetated face.
