Moorland Mesh is a heavy-duty plastic mesh designed for reinforcement of access roads across moorland and soft, boggy areas.
The mesh allows native moorland plants to grow through its open structure while creating a stable surface for agricultural workers, ramblers, and vehicles. Suitable for use in areas with restrictions on development, Moorland Mesh is UV stabilised, does not rot, and does not leach toxic chemicals.
The mesh is flexible to follow undulating ground and is typically pinned to the surface, with natural vegetation eventually entangling with the mesh to enhance stability.
Installation methods are tailored to site-specific conditions, including type, depth, and slope of the ground.
Features and benefits
High level of reinforcement for access roads and tracks
Suitable for permanent applications
Accommodates shallow slopes
Fast and cost-effective installation
No excavation or soil removal normally required
Higher slip-resistance than standard mesh products
Allows native vegetation to grow through the mesh
UV stabilised and resistant to rot
No leaching of toxic chemicals
Applications
Reinforcement of access roads and tracks on moorland and soft ground
Use in areas with ecological or development restrictions
Access for agricultural workers, ramblers, and vehicles
Physical attributes
Roll size: 2.5m x 15m
Thickness: 14.5mm
Weight: 2kg per m² / 5kg per linear metre / 75kg per roll
Materials
Heavy-duty plastic mesh
Performance
UV stabilised; will not rot; does not leach toxic chemicals
Installation
Normally pinned to the underlying surface. Over time, natural vegetation becomes entangled in the mesh to secure it and improve stability. Installation method is tailored to site-specific conditions, including type, depth, and slope of the ground.
Manufacture
Manufactured to order; minimum order quantity is 64 rolls.
