A prestigious International School approached Benchmark with a request to create something a little different to their usual ranges of street furniture - an outdoor storage solution for their pupils' rucksacks.

Solution

After a number of renders and design work Benchmark came up with a structure that was both practical, weather-resistant and in keeping with the school's grounds.

The difficulty came from the ever changeable UK weather therefore the shelter had to offer protection from all the elements. Internal aluminium boxes where created which had in-built shelving, offering a simple and long-lasting solution.

By using 316 stainless steel for the framework Benchmark can guarantee the structure for many years to come. This material also requires little to no maintenance and once mixed with the Accoya timber it softens and blends well into the surrounding buildings.

Outcome

This bespoke shelter has helped to keep the school's landscaped gardens a tranquil and presentable space. All materials are 100% recycable and will easily outlast inferior plastics.
