Angled precast concrete headwalls
Althon's concrete angled headwalls are often specified where the outfall is on a bend and the water needs to flow from the headwall at an appropriate angle to the watercourse. Althon's concrete angled headwalls are often specified where the outfall is on a bend and the water needs to flow from the headwall at an appropriate angle to the watercourse.
Angled precast headwalls allow pipework entering a watercourse at an angle to be accommodated or for an outfall to be situated on a bend in a river.
Althon cast the openings in their headwalls to suit your pipe diameter and material. They will also set the invert level of the pipe into the concrete headwall to your specification if required. Althon can also cast in multiple pipe openings if required.
All Althon's angled precast headwall units can be pre-fitted with a range of accessories such as Kee Klamp® handrails, gratings, flap valves, penstocks and other flow control devices.
Althon's range of angled precast headwall has been designed to accommodate pipework up to and including 900mm.
The AH4 precast headwalls meet the Environment Agency’s ‘Standard rules SR2015 No 27 – Constructing an outfall pipe of 300mm diameter through a headwall into a main river’ and Exempt flood risk activities: environmental permits section FRA12 ‘Outfall pipes less than 300mm diameter through a headwall’
