Anderton Concrete's Keystone retaining wall system was used on a project at Manchester Airport to create a new spine road connecting with the road network near Terminal 2.

Almost 1000m² of block was used to form the two back-to-back walls which reach just over 5m in height. The walls are predominantly dark grey in colour with band courses of light grey.

The new road forms part of the Airport City North development scheme which will be one of the most exciting business destinations in the UK covering 5 million sq ft at a cost of £650m.

The main contractor on the project was GPL Civil Engineering and PC Construction installed the reinforced earth structure.
