Handspring has made numerous sensory, science and play sculptures for primary schools and nurseries.

Some have started with workshops with the children, others from a variety of themes lead by the teachers. Handspring aims to make them interactive, fun and a little out of this world. They are all made from timber, however, working together with other artists, structures have also incorporated mosaics and rubber crumb.

The Chameleon was part of a whole nursery landscape design project for which Handspring also made the canoe and crawl-through log. This project was shortlisted for Northern Design Awards 2015.

The flower is based on a Dog Rose and comes apart into its different components. This sculpture also included metal casting.

The Whale is a water play vessel as part of a four element quad garden which also included the sand pit [earth] and Cloud Roof [air].

The Strawberry story telling seat and pea pod where part of an allotment themed play space which also included lots of real growing beds.
