Beech (Fagus sylvatica)
Beech (Fagus sylvatica) deciduous hedging has prominently veined green leaves that turn yellow-orange in Autumn and often remain through the winter.
Also known as Common or Green Beech it does well on most well drained soils and grows particularly well on chalk. This deciduous hedge can be planted in either sunny or partially shaded areas. As beach does not like salt it is not suited to coastal locations.
A Beech hedge is relatively slow growing (20-30 cm/year) and will need pruning annually, preferably in August.
We can offer this plant as individual hedging plants, semi mature trees, or as one of the Elveden Instant Hedge™ species.
