The Apple shelter is constructed from steam-bent, glue-laminated English oak which has a hard oil finish. Fixings are stainless steel.

It is handmade at Handspring Design's workshop in Sheffield, and can be created to suit the requirements of the setting.

It is 3.2m high x 3m wide and requires no foundations, therefore it can be located on hard-standing or grass. The 12-ribbed structure can seat and shelter up to 20 adults or a whole classroom of children, around its sculptural core.
