Challenge

Longstock Park Nursery is a specialist plant nursery, part of The Waitrose Farm at Leckford Estate.  Parts of the site are open to the public. In the past, public open events had been cancelled at the last minute due to heavy rain – due to a slight incline on the site, many cars could not make it up the hill, resulting in customers having to be towed out of the car parks by tractors. 

Solution

To solve this problem ahead of the next event, 2000m2 of GF50 pavers were installed to provide suitable ground for any vehicles even under heavy rain.

Outcome

As well as creating a sustainable drainage system (SuDS), the greenery of the site was preserved and customers will not be stuck in the mud again.
