Challenge
Jacksons Fencing was contracted to deliver a physical perimeter protection system to create a safe and secure environment for staff and pupils at the state-of-the-art Michael Faraday School in Southwark, London.
The school has many primary and nursery aged children attending, so it was of the utmost importance that RoSPA approved and BSEN 1176 compliant products were used for the play areas.
Solution
EuroGuard Flatform fencing was selected to create a strong, durable physical barrier to segregate the school from the outside world. The welded mesh vandalproof panels boast a flat profile delivering an anti-climb design featuring no natural hand or foot holds in a standard galvanised mild steel finish.
An automated cantilever sliding EuroGuard gate clad with EuroGuard panels was installed to provides a separate entrance to the staff car park. The gates were fitted with all the necessary features to be compliant with current recommended safety guidelines, including photo-cells and safety edges.
A further steel framed automated gate clad with tongue and groove horizontal timber was installed to provide a dedicated access point for deliveries. It gives an aesthetically pleasing smart appearance within the existing London clay brick boundary wall.
A galvanised steel sentry crash barrier was installed inside the delivery area to stop vehicles before they can get close enough to the school building facade to do any damage – regardless of whether it is accidental, or intentional.
Jacksons anti-trap bow top fencing in a white finish, provided a safe, strong boundary defence with a tubular construction, vandal proof connectors and no visible joins. It created a seamless boundary between the crèche and the primary school areas.
Outcome
As well as offering peace of mind in terms of creating a safe and secure site, the physical perimeter measures that have been put in place all come with the unique Jacksons 25 year guarantee ensuring a responsible, cost effective solution to site security.
