How eibe Play and Sport Brought Adventure Bay to Life at Chessington World of Adventures
When Chessington World of Adventures Resort set out to create the UK's first and only PAW Patrol-themed land, they needed a play specialist capable of turning a beloved children's franchise into a fully immersive, high-quality outdoor play experience. They turned to eibe Play and Sport.
Working in close partnership with Chessington's and Merlin's creative and project teams, eibe designed, manufactured and installed a completely bespoke outdoor play zone — Rubble & Rocky's Construction Zone — that brings the world of PAW Patrol to life for young visitors.
Creating a play environment within a major themed attraction demands far more than standard playground equipment. Every element needed to reflect the characters, storytelling and visual language of PAW Patrol, while meeting the rigorous safety, durability and visitor experience standards expected of a world-class resort destination.
The brief called for a play space that would feel authentically PAW Patrol — not simply branded — and that would encourage active, imaginative and social play for children of all abilities.
eibe Play and Sport developed a tailored suite of bespoke and adapted play features, each inspired by PAW Patrol characters Rubble and Rocky:
Captain Turbot's Ship — A custom-designed centrepiece crafted from Robinia timber, finished with a vibrant, high-quality oil treatment to complement the attraction's themed aesthetic.
Rocky's Recycling Lorry — A themed group springer encouraging social play and interaction, designed around Rocky's recycling character.
Rocky's Recycling Depot — An adapted multi-play unit transformed into a recognisable PAW Patrol setting, offering multiple play opportunities within a single structure.
Rubble's Digger & Dumper Climbing Unit — A bespoke climbing structure complete with slides and challenges inspired by the construction-loving pup Rubble.
Construction Material Mounds — A series of themed mounds featuring crawl tunnels, making creative use of the site's natural topography.
Embankment Slide — Integrated into the existing landscape to maximise the site's natural features.
Every element was designed, manufactured and installed entirely by the eibe team, ensuring consistency of quality and theme throughout.
The completed Rubble & Rocky's Construction Zone has transformed the area into a vibrant, immersive play destination that seamlessly blends themed storytelling with high-quality outdoor play. Children and families visiting the World of PAW Patrol can now climb, crawl, slide and explore through a play environment that feels genuinely part of the PAW Patrol world.
Following a visit to the completed installation, the eibe team witnessed first-hand the engagement and delight of children and families interacting with the new space — a testament to the power of combining creative design with expert play knowledge.
