Developed over 30 years by our specialist plant breeding team at the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS) at Aberystwyth University, this hybrid clover has unique traits.

DoubleRoot starts growing with a deep taproot that supports early establishment. As the plant matures, it transitions to a dual growth habit:

  • Above ground: Horizontal stolons spread across the surface, forming new plantlets.

  • Below ground: Rhizomes grow beneath the surface, producing stems.
