British Recycled Plastic are proud to be supporting J Paxman Landscapes, following their Premier Gold success last year, as they prepare to unveil Common Ground at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show 2026.

This year’s entry contains our recycled plastic Parklets, which will be donated to Project Colt as part of its important mission to bring together their local community, joining the recycled plastic accessibility benches which were donated back in 2023.

Common Ground - An Installation for the Whole Community

For April 2026, J Paxman Landscapes presents “Common Ground” - a small urban garden that combines outdoor seating with lush greenery. This compact yet powerful garden provides a valuable outdoor space within dense urban environments, where people from all walks of life can sit, grow, relax, and connect.

The design has been led by the prestigious FDA Landscape with the help of Serena Rogers, an award-winning artist whose floral artwork and inclusive approach has encouraged members of the community to contribute their art to Common Ground.

Low-Maintenance Solution for Outdoor Spaces

Built using British Recycled Plastic’s unique modular Parklets, Common Ground is a versatile space that aims to support both people and plants as they continue to grow.

Having previously installed our Denholme picnic tables and Skipton bench for a local Huddersfield club, J Paxman already knew the quality and finish of our recycled plastic products:

“They’re the best recycled plastic furniture I’ve come across, solid, well made, and they look great…We’ve had nothing but good feedback from our regulars. A great addition for the summer!”

The recycled plastic Parklets help to ensure that the garden is long lasting and protected from the elements, making it accessible to the community year round. Its modular design will allow Common Ground to be adapted and transported, creating the ideal natural space for shared activities. The standout feature of Parklets is that they can be fully customised to suit the needs of the space - a process we thoroughly enjoy using our miniature Parklet models that help bring ideas to life.

British Recycled Plastic’s Planter and Parklet range is rot-free, splinter-free, non-porous and highly resistant to weathering, making it the perfect way to transform landscapes and gardens where space is limited, providing long-lasting positive social impact.

Made using our Marsden Planters, each Parklet’s black colour retains heat from the sun, helping plants and soil to thrive in all conditions. The Parklets also do not break down, shed microplastics, or leach chemicals throughout their natural lifespan. They can be placed in a range of urban venues including streets, pubs, and pavements, brightening outdoor spaces and improving biodiversity - ensuring that the outdoors can truly be enjoyed by everyone.
