Bailey Street Furniture Group was appointed by Durham County Council to deliver a new cycle parking hub at Dalton Park Outlet & Outdoors, supporting the centre's sustainability initiatives and encouraging low-carbon travel for visitors.
Solution
A comprehensive cycle hub was installed within Dalton Park's central piazza, comprising an open-fronted Deacon Shelter with steel frame, timber cladding and corrugated steel roof.
The hub includes Streetpod secure cycle storage, a pump and repair stand, dedicated cargo bike stands, and solar-powered LED lighting.
The installation builds on a long-standing relationship with the site, complementing earlier BSFG contributions including seating, planters and concrete furniture.
Outcome
The hub provides secure, weatherproof parking for standard and cargo bikes, with on-site repair facilities and solar-powered lighting. It forms part of a wider 2025 sustainability drive at Dalton Park that also includes e-bike charging and hydration stations, reinforcing the centre's commitment to greener visitor travel.
