Overview

The refurbishment of 90 Long Acre, London, presented Cycle-Works with a challenge: how to install parking for a large number of bikes within an existing structure with limited space/ The solution contributed to the project achieving a BREEAM Outstanding rating - the highest level of recognition.

The Challenge

Because the work was carried out on an existing building Cycle-Works had to work within the constraints of the existing space to accommodate parking for 365 bicycles - a volume that required a mix of products and configurations.

The Solution

Cycle-Works used a combination of three rack types: gas-assisted Josta 2-tier racks, vertical wall racks (fitted both on frames and mounted directly to the walls), and Rounded A racks. The team were able to make use of wall space, floor space, and vertical height, creating space for the full 365-bike capacity without compromising accessibility.

The Outcome

The cycling infrastructure at 90 Long Acre contributed to the building's BREEAM Outstanding rating, recognising the project's broader commitment to sustainability.
