Overview
Cycle-Works designed and installed a bespoke cycle shelter for Xtrac - a leading British motorsport engineering company.
The Project
The shelter was built to a high specification, clad in thick 5mm PETg UV2 panels, the frame was fabricated from oversize box section, hot-dip galvanised for long-term weather protection. The result is a shelter built to withstand years of use with minimal maintenance.
Currently fitted with Sheffield stands, the shelter provides parking for 16 bikes. However, it has been designed from the outset with built-in clearance to accommodate a high-capacity 2-tier rack system in the future - meaning bike parking can be increased to 24 or 32 spaces simply by upgrading the internal equipment.
The Approach
Cycle-Works engineered the shelter to evolve with Xtrac's needs. The 2-tier upgrade path is already accounted for in the structure, giving the client a cost-effective route to expand capacity when required.
