WoodBlocX modular timber planters with integrated seating were specified by landscape architects OOBE as an alternative to the originally planned metal planters for the communal areas at 67 St. Bernards, a new residential development in the Canonmills area of Edinburgh.
Led by Kelvin Properties, the project has transformed a former warehouse into 36 modern and contemporary apartments.

WoodBlocX's modular system was selected not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for the speed of installation and the practicality of transporting materials to site, both of which played a key role in the decision-making process.
When planning the south-facing communal area of the development, the priority was to create an inviting space where residents can relax and fully enjoy the outdoors.
WoodBlocX provided a tailored solution of raised planters with integrated seating, offering both functionality and comfort. The flexibility of the system made it possible to work within the footprint of the existing design, ensuring the new features fitted seamlessly into the space.
