Created by Broadbent Studio as part of the Bosworth 1485 Sculpture Trail in Market Bosworth, Chapter 2 (of 5) is entitled 'The Storm Breaks'.
Installed in Fenn Lanes, this curious ancient stone monument focuses on a brief two-hour flash point within an English meadow - depicting a moment in time.
Trips were made to stone quarries around the country to select the right blocks. The stone figure representing Henry is built from red sandstone, while Richard is constructed from white Portland stone. The other stone figures are significant barons involved in the battle, with the choice of stone connecting to them and their locality.
Stencils were cut to enable sand-blasting the heraldry specific to each figure, with the blasted rebate then painted by hand.
