Broadbent Studio developed a conceptual framework for the Bosworth 1485 Sculpture Trail in Market Bosworth, told in 5 chapters, beginning with a story of one day in 1485, and with another story telling of the 500-year shadow it has cast through the historical account.
By moving from one chapter to another, stories are told within stories, beginning half a millennium ago right up to the present day, and into the future. Each chapter relates to a significant location in the landscape.
The artworks in each location are embedded in their settings well enough to tell their part of the story, and pull people into the story by reaching beyond historical details to touch universal themes everyone can relate to.
A walking trail takes visitors from one chapter to the next - not just from field to field, but on a journey through a story. Completing the trail brings with it a sense of having arrived at an understanding - of the landscape, of a slice of history, and of themes being played out in the world around them.
In progress since before the global pandemic, the trail launched in August 2025.
