Portuguese granite paving, setts, step units, kerbs and edging
Context
CED Stone Group supplied Portuguese granite paving, setts, step units, kerbs and edging as part of the refurbishment of Whitfield Gardens, alongside Tottenham Court Road, as part of the West End Project to create and improve public garden areas; allowing people to enjoy relaxing open spaces in Central West London.
Project detail
CED was chosen by the contractor to supply the stone elements to brighten up and improve this space with an interesting colour mix.
This was a challenging project supplied during the 2020 pandemic; CED had to deal with periodic factory and quarry lock-down closures.
Granite supplied included Portuguese fine-picked buff yellow, red and silver-beige paving and sett mixes, and special angled Portuguese silver grey step units with dark grey nosing sections, as well as kerbs and edgings.
CED also water-jet cut letters into several of the paving units which it then in-filled with black granite.
