What is Conventional Seeding and how does it work?

Alongside CDTS South & East's other services they offer a full conventional seeding service. To complete these projects in the most efficient way we have invested in a broad range of conventional seeding equipment which enables us to tackle any project, however big or small.

These types of work can range from large scale reclamation and road schemes to lawns and business parks. Their highly experienced team will conduct a thorough site inspection prior to the commencement of any project ensuring only the most appropriate equipment is deployed for the job.

At CDTS South & East they currently operate the following cultivation and ground preparation machinery:

  • The ‘Harley Power rake’ - The 1 step seed bed preparation; this cleans soil of stones and unwanted debris.

  • A ’Muratori Power harrow’ - This provides complete horizontal tilling and levelling of the soil; this is a highly versatile piece of equipment.

  • A ‘Kingcutter Rotavator’  - This is often useful for breaking down and aerating heavy cloddy soils. They deploy this rotavator on projects where soiled areas are able to be quickly made ready for hydroseeding.

CDTS South & East also deploy various fixed tine and levelling harrows such as land cultivators (or pig tines) useful for breaking “panned” or tracked soil found on landfill and restoration sites. In addition to this, we use several adaptations of chain and Opico grass harrows that enable us to efficiently cover large areas raking seed into lighter soils.
