The Rockmaster Tough Trail from eibe Play was used by KC Active to enhance play provision and promote physical activity for older children.

Challenge

KC Active sought to enhance its outdoor play provision with a solution that would appeal to older children and promote physical activity. Many traditional playgrounds fail to provide sufficient challenges or excitement for children aged 10 and above, often leading to disengagement from play as they grow. KC Active wanted a play structure that was bold, inclusive, and physically stimulating while also being low maintenance and long-lasting.

Solution

The Rockmaster Tough Trail by eibe Play was the perfect fit. Inspired by Ninja Warrior, parkour and obstacle courses, it blends climbing, balancing, crawling and coordination. The modular layout includes ropes, monkey bars, angled climbing walls and traverse nets.

KC Active chose the bold blue and green colours for the design, ensuring the unit matched the site visually while delivering an aspirational challenge for older children.

Outcome

The Rockmaster Tough Trail's adventurous design and broad age appeal attracted children from across the region, particularly older ones who often lack appropriate play spaces made it a very successful addition to KC Active.

The equipment’s open-ended nature encourages repeat visits, active movement and group interaction, while its durable materials ensure it withstands heavy use.

The launch event on International Day of Play 2025 was a major success, showcasing the Rockmaster’s ability to draw crowds and foster energetic outdoor play.

The Rockmaster elevated KC Active’s play offering and supports their mission of promoting healthy, active lifestyles for children.
