Multi-Award Winning Designer Sarah Price was inspired by the atmosphere of the New Forest when she designed Maggies Centre in Southampton. She wanted to create a woodland feel that would seclude the new centre from its location in the middle of Southampton General Hospital’s car park, with the intention to look as if the garden had always been there providing privacy from the outside world. In keeping with Sarah Price’s design ethos, the tree selection includes species that create a natural, woodland look and feel, offering a colour palette that blends with the striking architectural design providing year-round interest.

All of the trees, rootball and container grown, were provided by Hillier from their nursery in Hampshire and were expertly planted using the Platipus Rootball Fixing System with Plati-Mat® by Yoreland Design Limited.

The incredible centre was built to support anyone living with cancer to help them, their family and friends whilst visiting, to relax and to try to help them forget the stress in their lives and soak up the beauty of their surroundings.
