Context
Broxap's Florence seating and Westleigh litter bins were selected for North East Derbyshire District Council's project to refresh the public realm surrounding Dronfield Civic Hall, with the aim of improving the area's overall appeal and functionality for residents, businesses and visitors.
Scope of works
The scope of the works included a combination of hard and soft landscaping, improved pedestrian access, and the addition of new street furniture, including seats and waste bins.
A key feature of the development was creating a flexible event space, designed for community gatherings and seasonal events.
Additional improvements included the relocation of the existing bus shelter to a more practical place and the overall enhancement of the visitor experience throughout the town centre.
Project detail
High quality street furniture
In partnership with Gary Fletcher Surfacing Ltd, Broxap supplied high-quality street furniture tailored to complement the new landscape design.
This included contemporary Florence steel and timber seating, as well as durable Westleigh litter bins. With a galvanised and powder-coated steel-frame, and six timber slats on the front, they contribute to the site's visual appeal and offer practical, user-friendly amenities that support the area’s cleanliness.
Minimum disruption
To ensure minimal disruption to local businesses and the public, the project was delivered in carefully planned phases.
Each section was completed as quickly as possible before being reopened for public use, allowing the community to continue enjoying the space throughout the course of the works.
