Context

Langley Design worked with Stack London and Harris Partnership to provide bespoke galvanised and powder-coated steel planters, spanning vast areas of the Premier Place site, to create an expansive area for greenery and garden beds and a welcoming outdoor space for residents.

Premier Place is a modern and vibrant residential area in Edgeware accommodating 124 private and affordable flats in four blocks with commercial and retail space at ground level.

For the external landscape, a large communal area accessible to residents has been developed inside the four tower blocks.

Work undertaken

Durable steel planters

Designed with flexibility and durability in mind, the powder-coated Zintec steel planters are made from robust 3mm Zintec sheets and are highly resistant to all weather conditions.

Langley Design installed more than 250m of bespoke planters and 63m of standard planters in a variety of shapes and sizes, spanning the communal spaces to create an expansive area for greenery and garden beds.

Their sleek and industrial finish enhances the aesthetics of this communal area and has created a vast space for promoting biodiversity across the landscape.

Seating

Integrated into the planter systems is a range of curved and straight timber benches, made from hardwood iroko, adding a touch of elegance and an inviting space for residents to relax, socialise, watch children play safely, and enjoy the time outdoors.

Result

Bringing nature to urban living at Premier Place

From the outset, Langley Design worked closely with Stack London and The Harris Partnership to understand the specific needs and deliver the project seamlessly.

The result is a visually strong and functional outdoor environment that residents can enjoy on a daily basis and observe the greenery change with the seasons.

The bespoke planters and benches offer a relaxing space for residents to appreciate away from the busy city life.

Langley Design’s expertise in crafting unique solutions that bring the vision to life are evidenced in this project and the overall goal is a fantastic example of how nature can be thoughtfully bought into an urban living environment.
