IOTA was commissioned by QS Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd to design, manufacture and install large bespoke steel planter / benches with LED underlighting for a commercial office courtyard space at Tranley Mews in Hampstead, London.
Solution
IOTA’s manufacturing designs were based on a concept design by Concept Landscape Architect.
The largest planter / bench measures 14646 (l) x 1300 (w) x 800mm (h); the smallest is 6500mm-long with the same footprint.
Both planter / benches were fabricated in complex, multi-section format for on-site assembly and installation, completed by IOTA.
Substantial seating timbers – in FSC Iroko treated with Osmo UV protection – were cantilevered off the face of the planters, and backrests were also included.
The planter / benches also feature in-built LED underlighting.
