Context

AMV Playgrounds was commissioned to provide goalposts, basketball nets, seating and litter bins for a new playground at the Weaver Meadows housing development in Winsford. The project aimed to create a safe, engaging and well-maintained play area for the neighbourhood's children while contributing to the overall aesthetic of the space.

Weaver Meadows is part of an expanding suburban area characterised by its blend of modern housing and green spaces. The playground is situated within the heart of this new neighbourhood, and will serve families moving into this area.

Project detail

AMV Playgrounds was commissioned to provide essential elements for this playground, including durable steel goals with basketball nets, seating and litter bins. 

AMV supplied hard-wearing steel goals with basketball nets designed for the MUGA. These goals are hot dip galvanised to protect against rust and corrosion, with a polyester powder-coated finish providing a clean, bright weather-proof appearance. 

The rebound panels of the goals are designed to reduce noise from ball impacts, making the playground more pleasant for everyone. Additionally, the inclusion of target panels allows children to practice their shooting skills, enhancing their overall experience.

The seating provided features high-quality hardwood timber combined with a powder-coated finish in a brown corten colour. This choice of materials not only ensures comfort and longevity but also complements the natural aesthetic of the playground.

The Greengate litter bins supplied are timber-clad, maintaining the natural look of the playground. They include side openings that facilitate easy access to the inner bin liners, simplifying waste removal and contributing to the cleanliness of the playground.

Outcome

The collaboration between AMV Playgrounds and the Weaver Meadows development has resulted in a successful enhancement of local recreational facilities.

By providing high-quality, durable playground equipment and thoughtful amenities, the MUGA also effectively separates different play areas, reducing the risk of accidents and allowing children to enjoy football and basketball without interfering with other activities.

The project not only meets the immediate needs of the neighbourhood but also contributes to the long-term enjoyment and well-being of its residents.
