Buzon's A-PED range of fire-rated pedestals was used in the installation of paving on a 106m2 roof terrace at The Place, a new student accommodation building in central Nottingham.
The new-build offers premium accommodation for 409 students and features a gym and dedicated study spaces as well as a Sky Lounge on the 8th floor with a 360° roof terrace.
Project detail
The terrace required a non-combustible solution to ensure maximum fire safety for the residents and their visitors, and Class A Tavira 600 x 400mm concrete paving in Silver was paired with the aluminium A-PED range from Buzon, who was contracted to supply and install on top of a single-ply finish to Rockwool insulation.
The A-PED-JOIST was used to provide framing on top of the pedestal for additional stability, and end stops were used to create even gaps around the edge of the paving and to prevent any lateral movement of pavers.
Outcome
The terrace features planters, seating and pods, and is the perfect space for socialising and enjoying the views over the city.
