Context

Cyclepods supplied several Streetpods to provide the highest possible security for bike parking in the public realm as part of an ongoing project in the Spinningfields area of central Manchester. The Streetpods have been positioned at key points to provide secure cycle parking so employees and visitors to the area can park their bikes in confidence.

Streetpod has been rated Sold Secure Diamond, the highest level of bicycle security, is Secured by Design accredited, and officially recommended by UK Police through the ‘Police Preferred Specification’ programme.

Thanks to their weight and design, Streetpods can be placed on pre-existing surfaces, and require no groundwork. Installation is trouble-free with just the need to bolt to the ground once in position. This was key for this project as the cycle stands have been installed in a culturally sensitive place next to John Rylands Library and can be moved and repositioned if necessary for special events.

They also benefit from being made from recycled material and recyclable at the end of their product life. 

The pods can also be customised with decals for branding and informational purposes – here Spinningfields have utilised the design by including vibrant decals with slogans for the space.
